Applications for U21 Climate Corps Summer School held in South Korea are open until 10 March 2026
As part of the activities of the global Universitas 21 network, the University of Helsinki invites applications for the U21 Climate Corps summer school entitled "Fostering Global Climate Leaders". The summer school will be held in Seoul, South Korea, from July 6 to 10, 2026. The organizing university is Korea University (KU), a long-standing partner of the University of Helsinki. The aim of the summer school is to promote global climate collaboration by training future leaders. The topics covered in the summer school include:
- Climate Technology
- Climate Business Innovation
- Climate Policy
KU will award two ECTS credits for participation in the summer school. The University of Helsinki can nominate one student for the summer school. The University of Helsinki will cover the travel and accommodation expenses for the student accepted into the summer school, provided that Korea University also selects the student for the program.
Eligibility
- You have the right to complete a degree at the University of Helsinki in one of the following faculties:
- Faculty of Biological and Environmental Sciences
- Faculty of Agriculture and Forestry
- Faculty of Science
- Faculty of Social Sciences
- You are at the master's level in your studies and have completed coursework related to the themes of the summer school.
- You need to be registered as an attending student for the spring semester 2026, and your right to study is valid for at least until the end of the semester following the summer school.
Student nominated for the summer school is expected to have a genuine interest and motivation for the subject matter, as well as to actively participate in discussions during the various sessions of the summer school.
Submit your application by March 10, 2026
- Complete your application in the Mobility Online system. Log in using your university AD credentials and ensure that "Tailor-made programmes" is selected under the Exchange program section. Verify that the academic year reads "2025/2026." Fill in any missing information and select "Send application."
- The application process is two-part: you will receive an email with a link that allows you to finish your application. Log back into your application using the link provided in the email.
- Attach your transcript from the University of Helsinki, which you can download from Sisu. Upload the attachments in the section labeled "Upload application documents."
- Once the attachment is uploaded, click "Submit application with attachments."
Your application will then be processed by the International Exchange Services. The selection will be based on the general criteria applied by the International Exchange Services. Decisions will be sent to students by March 12, 2026. After this, the selected student will need to apply separately for the summer school by March 15, 2026.
