Bulletin 13.1.2026

The application period for the grants and scholarships from the University of Helsinki Funds is January 14 – February 6, 2026. The University of Helsinki Funds awards grants and scholarships for undergraduate, graduate and doctoral students as well as researchers.

In addition, grants from the Valo Fund are available as part of the University of Helsinki's grant application for 2026. Grants from the Valo Fund are intended to support the continuation of psychotherapy for the third or fourth year after support for rehabilitative psychotherapy granted by the Social Insurance Institution of Finland (Kela) expires. The Valo Fund grants are available to students of the University of Helsinki.

The University of Helsinki Funds includes over 350 funds founded by our alumni, friends and other supporters. All the disciplines have their own funds used to finance research projects, researchers and students of their own discipline. In addition to the discipline-specific funds, the university also has cause-specific and general funds. Funds have been donated to the University of Helsinki the past centuries.

The University of Helsinki Funds offers grants and scholarships only to students and researchers of the University of Helsinki (the only exception is The Cooperative Teaching and Research Fund).
